What kind of bra should a woman wear if she has large breasts?
February 2nd, 2009
Help! I have 36DD or DDD breasts (depending on bra brand), and I can’t seem to find a bra that offers enough support. Not only do my bras not lift enough, but I often bulge out of them and they stretch out within 6 months or less. I’ve tried MaidenForm, Victoria’s Secret, and Playtex. Nothing has worked so far.
What brand and style should I wear? Are there any specialty shops in Western Washington?
girl

wear in which U r comfortable. I have various texts on this. Please ping me if u wanna know more.
i wear a 34DD and i buy mine at either vanity fair which so far are the best for me or the bali bras that kohls sells
I would start here.
Im a 44DD i CANNOT wear bras with underwire in them but i would suggest ones that have comfortable straps and that also supports your shoulders and back.
You could try some of the TRIUMP range like one I think is called Doreen some are reasonably pretty as well
You say you have tried Victoria’s Secret, but have you tried every style they have? They have a new Biofit bra that is awesome. I have 36D and used to be 36DD and love Victoria’s Secret. Have you gone in and gotten measured and asked for help from the workers? If that doesn’t work try heading to a department store where they have a lot of different styles and brands. They will measure you and will also spend the time to help you select the style that will work for you. I know how hard it is to find a bra that fits! Believe me its a lot of work! But keep trying. Good luck!
look for bras that have thick straps. a good brand is hanes, but your best option is buying online. usually its hard to find good large cup bras in retail stores.
I’m 34 DD and wear Victorias Secret push up and I love it. You’re bigger than me, though, if I were you I would try to find a manufacturer that specializes in bras for women of your size. I’m sorry I don’t have any suggestions for companies, but I’m sure you can find something
Then wear ddd
You don’t need a specialty shop. Go to a large department store like Nordstrom, Macy’s, etc and get fitted for a bra. You do not necessarily have to buy one but you will ultimately discover you are wearing the wrong sized bra.
The sizing formula of adding 5 and then subtracting one…or whatever is not really based on anything. You will likely find out that with a tape measure the area directly above the rib cage and under the breast is about 34′ or 35. That measures your band width. From there the cup sizing changes. Don’t be alarmed at the letter difference since this tends to differ from country to country, but I have found that most 36DD or DDD end up measuring a 34E or so. – not exactly 34 on the tape but most 36 end up being a 34.
The brands that make these are kind of high end and pricey. The brands are
Panache
Fantasie
Freya
Fauve
Rigby & Pellor
They have more volume in the cup. Further, they are exquisitely beautiful and worth every cent. You will not believe how much better you will look and feel. There is a video on Oprah’s website that explains this better and shows a few fitted on woman of all breast sizes and I will add it to the “Sources” part when I look for it again.
If you search on the web don’t go to Bare Necessities, or Her Room because they are very pricey on those sites. Go to Figleaves.com.
* The third person’s suggestion isn’t a bad one **but get fitted first** Biggerbras has some ok Fantasie and Freya’s. The site usually offers a 10% discount and the shipping isn’t bad. A little later they send you an email with a request for a review (which you don’t have to do) but they usually have a larger discount in it.

Wear a REALLY tight tshirt. It’ll show off the twins for us, and if it’s tight enough, they won’t jiggle uncomfortably. C’mon, be a sport and give us some eye candy!
I am also a similar size. I love the Layne Branyt (sp?). They have lots of bras. Even though I am not a plus size for clothes I am in bras. Their sizes start as small as 32 and they cups go up to F. I love them. Plus they are not too expensive. I have only had mine about a year and they are still in pretty good shape.
not a push up. it doesn’t help so well. victoria secrets bras are really good. im bigger chested and conformtable bras are the best.
America doesn’t seem to have much on offer for larger breasted girls – I find this so weird as there IS a market. And for the average to thin woman, say US size 4-8, who just happens to have plenty of boobs there is barely anything, so they have to make do with badly fitting bras.
Anyway, that’s my rant over.
I live in the UK, which suprisingly has a lot more choice in this department – I’m an F cup (DDDD). have a look at the British based websites Figleaves and Bravissimo – they have loads for women like you, and do deliver to the US.
One brand I know is available in America is Le Mystere. Some Lane Byrant is for plus sized women – if you’re slim don’t feel that you have to fit into that category just because you have a largere chest.
dear i think if you tried all the previous answers and nothing worked maybe you need to start thinking of plastic surgery.
i hope my answer would work.
how bout none at all?
Fredericks of Hollywood , try their online store or go to your nearest store by you, my wife is a 36dd-38d like you said it depends on the bra brand, but fredricks is her store of choice they have a good selection… she had the same problem your describing…. good luck
